Air to Air Photo Shoot with Jason Flood
During the inaugural Flying W Airshow in October 2016, Zinger Aviation Media took part in an air-to-air photo flight with local aerobatic pilot Jason Flood. The goal of the flight was to capture Jason flying his beautiful Pitts S-1S over the Flying W Airport. It took a few attempts to get the desired results, and they came out great.
Jason Flood is a native of Southern New Jersey and has been around aviation practically all his life. He has flown privately and professionally since he was a teenager and has been active in the airshow community ever since. In 2010, Jason flew his first airshow performance, and today holds a surface level waiver for aerobatics. In August 2011, Jason was flying for a company towing banners up and down the Jersey Shore when the aircraft he was flying suffered a catastrophic engine failure, forcing the airplane and Jason to the ground. He suffered multiple fractures and broken bones as well as a torn aorta, and required multiple surgeries and rehabilitation. Less than a year after the accident, he flew again and to this day is doing great. Jason's website recounts the day and the days afterwards in great detail; what I stated above is just a tiny fraction of it all.
Apologies for the large copyrights in each photo - this is necessary in this day and age where photos are widely stolen and passed along as if they are one's own.
